【Thoughts of Kokusan Denki Regarding the Protection of Personal Information】

 Kokusan Denki Co., Ltd., (hereinafter the “Company”) has established rules and a management system regarding the Protection of Personal Information as well as has fixed the following Privacy Policy and has made these known to officers and employees. We will continue to strive to suitable protect personal information in accordance with this policy.

【Definition of Personal Information】

 Within Kokusan Denki Co., Ltd., personal information is information regarding a living person and that can be used to identify specific persons, which includes person’s name, date of birth, and other descriptions contained in relevant information, or numbers, symbols, and codes assigned to individuals as well as images and audio (this includes information that alone cannot be used to identify the individual but that can be used to identify the individual through a simply comparison with other information). Further, personal information is not limited to information used to identify the person but also includes all other information that indicate facts, judgments, and evaluations relating to the individual, such as physical characteristics, property, occupation, titles, and other characteristics.
  The Company protects and manages personal information with utmost efforts as carefully as possible in accordance with the following Privacy Policy.

 This Privacy Policy prescribes the handling of customer personal information by the Company.

【Privacy Policy of Kokusan Denki】

  1. Collection, Use, and Provision of Personal Information
    Recognizing that the Company acquires customer information through its business operations, the Company has established a management system for all operations to protect personal information and appropriately handles the collection, use, and provision of personal information in accordance with the specified rules.
  2. Observance of Laws and Rules
    The Company observes the laws and other rules that apply to the protection of personal information handled by the Company. In addition, the Company prescribes and observes personal information protection management rules that comply with these laws and other rules.
  3. Implementation of Security Measures
    To ensure the accuracy and security of personal information, the Company follows rules for information security, controls access to personal information, restricts the means for removing personal information from Company premises, takes measures to prevent unauthorized access from outside, and strives to prevent the loss, destruction, tampering, leakage, etc., of personal information.
  4. Respect for Individual Rights Regarding Personal Information
    When the Company receives a request from a customer to disclose, correct, or delete that party’s personal information or to refuse use or provision of said personal information, the Company will respect the customer’s rights regarding personal information and respond to the request in good faith.
  5. Establishment and Continuous Improvement of the Personal Information Protection Management Rules
    The Company has officers and employees recognize the importance of protecting personal information, prescribes personal information protection management rules to appropriately use and protect personal information, and assures that these rules are correctly implemented. The Company also maintains and continuously improves these rules.

【Personal Information Purposes of Use and Provision to Third Parties】

  1. The Company only uses personal information within the scope required to achieve the purposes stated in the following items as required by its business activities, which are mainly the manufacture of electrical equipment and instruments.
    1. a.To execute agreements formed between the customer and the Company
    2. b.To contact the customer for business discussions and meetings
    3. c.To provide product after-sales service
    4. d.To send information regarding events and new products
    5. e.For stock related administrative work
    6. f.To respond to inquiries
    7. g.To conduct analyses based on questionnaires to improve products and services
    8. h.To provide personal information to affiliated companies when said companies jointly conduct operations with the Company
  2. The Company will not provide customer personal information to a third party without obtaining permission from the customer in advance. However, this does not apply in the following cases.
    1. a.When said provision is legally required
    2. b.When necessary to protect the life, health, or property of people and it is difficult to obtain permission from the customer
    3. c.When necessary in particular to improve public health or to promote the wholesome development of children and it is difficult to obtain permission from the customer
    4. d.When cooperation is required to execute legally required administrative work performed by a national government organization, local government organization, or a party commission by the same and obtaining the permission of the customer could hinder the execution of said administrative work.
    5. e.When the handling of personal information is outsourced within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
    6. f.When personal information is provided accompanying the succession of business due to a merger or other reason

Customer personal information, such as name, place of employment, home address, telephone number, fax number, and email address, may be provided to Group companies when necessary for the execution of business activities conducted jointly with said affiliated Group companies. In this case, the customer’s personal information will be provided via paper or electronic media. The customer may request that its personal information not be provided to affiliated companies.
  4. When the customer contacts the Company by telephone, the call may be recorded to ensure an accurate response.

【Receiving of Requests or Complaints Regarding the Disclosure Etc., of Personal Information】

 Contact the following to request disclose, correction, addition, deletion, stoppage of use, stoppage of provision to a third party, or notice of the purposes of use of the customer personal information possessed by the Company (hereinafter “disclosure, etc.”) or to file a complaint.

  1. Most of the services provided by the Company do not require the use of customer personal information. However, please understand that there are some services that cannot be provided if the customer’s personal information is not provided to the Company.
  2. Please understand that the Company shall not be held responsible in any way for maintaining the security of personal information provided to a non-Company website that is linked to the Company’s website.
  3. The entry by the customer of personal information via the Company’s website presumes the customer agrees with the Privacy Policy. If the customer does not agree with this Privacy Policy, then the customer might not be able to use the services provided by the Company (including receiving responses to inquires).

【Notes】

  1. The Company’s Privacy Policy is based on Japanese law.
  2. The Company may modify the Privacy Policy accompanying improvements in the handling of personal information or revisions in the related laws or rules.
  3. The Privacy Policy is in effect from the date of posting (including the dates of revisions).
  4. If personal information protection provisions regarding the contents are individually prescribed, said provisions shall take precedence over the Privacy Policy.
